And if you do buy it, will it be BECAUSE it’s a brilliant film, or IN SPITE of it being nothing but a few mere stepping stones through the book?

Or both?

personally i thought the book was the weakest of the saga and the film did the editing that the publishers should have done, essentially the whle book was a stepping stone to the infinatley superior half blood prince.

that aside, the film was excellent in its own right, gary oldman put in his usual gutso performance as sirius and daniel radcliffe showed how much he has developed as an actor. Fiennes’ manical performance as voldemort was also a work of genius

Anyway, i have to get it or else there will be an unsightly gap on my dvd rack when the next one comes out

I need either a drawing or picture of a dead Harry Potter. It can be from the movies (Daniel Radcliffe), or a fan sketch. I just need something of him dead. This is for a school project, where I’m illustrating the phases of the Hero’s Journey.

Thanks!

My realigion teacher says the Harry Potter books are bad because they have devil stuff in them. I myself think this is stupid.

I have read all the books. And in contrast to what your teacher says (and many other "spiritual leaders" for that fact) there are no references to the devil or devil worship. As a matter of fact, if you read the books closely enough, you will notice that they are, in fact, quite Christian. Many references to "Happy Christmas" as well as Christian sensibilities (fighting evil, importance of family and love) are prominant features of the stories. Read the books for yourself and keep notes on them, then take them to your teacher and ask him to point out any refernces to the Devil or satan worship. He won’t be able to provide any, because they don’t exist. Many religous people will point out the fact that witches and wizards worship Satan. That is an out and out lie. Witches and wizards worship the EARTH and their religion is called Wicca.
PS – I studied ancient Latin in college (4 years worth at a private Catholic University) and none of the spells can be translated into anything Satanic
