Were you confused …
Were you confused at all about the story? Or did you guys understand it well?
I’ve read the books so I’m curious how non-readers feel.
Anyway, great to have a new generation added to the fandom.

I’m actually pretty …
I’m actually pretty impressed how the HP series doesn’t shy away from death…. But I can see how more mature fans could be wary of any lightening-up.

The PG rating …
The PG rating caused backlash from fans because HBP was the darkest book. Some people were even suggesting R, but that wouldn’t happen. I think the MPAA is just less strict on this one, because it should definitely be PG-13. The PG rating is going to alienate some people. I didn’t want to see movies because that gives it a kiddy feel and there’s been so many lame PG’s over the last decade. Everyone can get in to PG-13 and it has the widest appeal. I hate when death and darkness is candy coated.

Excellent review! After the one I just seen, I find it relieving to see a review from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.

Wow I loved your …
Wow I loved your review!!!! I think the movie was great, well-balanced, and even though it sometimes felt like too much tAlking and no action, it was never boring for me! As for the “sad part”, I was crying my eyes off, seriously I was sobbing, I couldn’t help it. Also, I totally agree with you in that this movie is THE PERFECT way to set things ready for Deathly Hallows 1 and 2. As I watched “HBP” I could totally imagine DH and I really liked it. Great job guys u rock!!!

To be honest, I …
To be honest, I myself do get a little confused from time to time; I don’t think Max does! I just let the story carry me along.

We are currently …
We are currently half-way through book #1; (I read a few pages to Max every night, so it’s taking a while!). So we didn’t know the HBP story going into the film. And yes, we jumped at that part!! This was also our first HP film on the big-screen, since we got into HP only recently and so saw the others on DVD. Makes the experience that much more engaging when it’s big!

Well Harry Potter …
Well Harry Potter is a “children’s” franchise, no doubt…. The age window can be debated – depends on the kid’s sensibilities. Max is very familiar with the previous 5 films, and with #6 reverting back to PG (from PG-13), I judged HBP to be ok for him! I’ve been wrong before, of course; but not this time I don’t believe. Dad may have liked it – but he wouldn’t have understood it!!
